GENERAL INFORMATION

King's Grant Lynnhaven Recreation Association (KGLRA) exists to provide opportunities for youth to play safe and enjoyable sports, regardless of race, creed, ethnic or economic backgrounds by creating fair and positive sporting experiences that develops sportsmanship, respect, and friendly competition. KGLRA works in conjunction with the Virginia Beach City-wide Athletics office to provide recreational sport opportunities for children in the Kings Grant Lynnhaven area.

The League is administered by an all-volunteer Board of Directors and dozens of volunteer coaches and coordinators. If you would like to get involved with KGLRA please checkout our "Get Involved" tab for more information. 

SPORTS OFFERED

KGLRA offers the following sports to the Virginal Beach Little Neck community and its surrounding neighborhoods: 

BASKETBALL

• Registration runs October 1st through November 15th. 
• Practices begin first week in December and are held in local elementary schools. 
• 8U through 14U games are held on Saturdays from mid-December through last week in February / first weekend in March. 
• All 6U Games and Practices are held on Mondays from early December through late February. 
• Season concludes early March.

• 6U Co-ed - Must be 5 or 6 on September 30th 2024
• 8U (Boys & Girls): Must be 7 or 8 on September 30th 2024
• 10U (Boys & Girls): Must be 9 or 10 on September 30th 2024
• 12U (Boys & Girls): Must be 11 or 12 on September 30th 2024
• 14U (Boys & Girls): Must be 13 or 14 on September 30th 2024

VOLLEYBALL

Fall Season:

• Registration begins [TBD] and ends [TBD]. 
• Fall season practices begin after Labor Day.
• Matches begin mid-September.

Spring Season:

• Registration begins [TBD] and ends [TBD]. 
• Spring season practices begin 1st week in April.
• Matches begins three (3) weeks later. 

Volleyball Division Information:

• 9U Co-ed: Must be 7-9 on September 30th, 2024
• 12U (Girls & Coed): Must be 10-12 on September 30th, 2024
• 14U (Girls & Coed): Must be 13-14 on September 30th, 2024
• 18U (Girls & Coed): Must be 15-18 on September 30th, 2024

SOFTBALL

Fall Season:

• Registration opens in mid-[TBD] and closes late [TBD].
• Teams are formed late [TBD] and coaches contact players/families.
• Fall season practices begin 1st week in [TBD].

Spring Season:

• Registration opens in mid-January and closes late February.
• Teams are formed late February and coaches contact players/families.
• Spring season practices begin 1st week in March

Softball Division Ages:

• Futures: Must be 5-7 on September 30 2024
• Pigtails: Must be 7-9 on September 30 2024
• Preteens: Must be 10-12 on September 30 2024
• Juniors: Must be 13-15 on September 30 2024
• Seniors: Must be 15-18 on September 30 2024
